Behind Every Build: The Courtside Group's Strategic Partnership with Birch Construction

Marketing is usually one of the last things on a general contractor's mind. Birch Construction builds differently, and it markets differently too. For Birch, telling the story of a job well done is as much a part of the work as the work itself. That's the partnership The Courtside Group was brought in to build.

A Strategic Voice, Not Just a Production Crew

Most contractors treat marketing as a checkbox: post the finished building, tag the client, move on. Birch wanted a partner who could help shape what the company says about itself, not just distribute it. Over the course of the relationship, The Courtside Group has become a strategic voice at the table when Birch talks about its own brand, rather than a crew that arrives once the decisions are already made.

That distinction matters most in how Birch talks about its mission. The company operates on a simple idea: we help people, help people. Birch doesn't just build buildings; it builds the fire stations, surgery centers, and schools that let first responders, doctors, and teachers do their jobs. Courtside's role has been to help translate that idea into a marketing strategy, then into the content that proves it, project after project.

“Courtside doesn't just show up with a camera. They sit in on our strategy conversations and ask the right questions about why a project matters, not just what it looks like. That's the difference between a vendor and a partner.”

Telling Birch's Story in Three Parts

With the strategy set, the content needed to prove it. Courtside built Birch's social presence around three pillars, each one doing a different job.

On the Job Site. Cameras go where the work happens: inside active job sites, alongside superintendents and project managers, capturing the real coordination behind a build. When Senior Project Manager Ray Luke breaks down what it takes to double the size of an operating ambulatory surgery center, or when the crew races a utility reroute to keep a fire station's disruption to a single day, the content doesn't dramatize the work. It shows the work and lets it speak for itself.

The Big Reveals. Birch's project list reads like a tour of North Texas: an urgent care center for Cook Children's in Hurst, a fire station for the city of Flower Mound, a new surgery center in Midlothian, an underground speakeasy for Headington Companies in the heart of downtown Dallas. Courtside builds the content plan around these milestones, from behind-the-scenes access during construction to polished reveal moments when a project opens its doors, so every notable build gets its moment in front of the camera.

Life at Birch. Not every post is about concrete and steel. Courtside also captures the culture that makes Birch, Birch: welcoming the summer intern class, debating Mexican food versus barbecue on camera, celebrating the people who show up to job sites every day. It's the content that reminds a construction audience there are real people behind every project.

A Day-to-Day Collaboration

None of this works without a tight feedback loop between the two teams. Courtside works directly with Birch's internal marketing team to plan coverage, pressure-test ideas, and keep every post tied back to the bigger strategy, focused on what's genuinely worth telling.

“Courtside feels like an extension of our own team, not an outside agency we're managing. I can bring them a rough idea for a project spotlight and they'll come back with a plan for how to shoot it, cut it, and where it fits in the bigger content calendar. That kind of collaboration is rare.”

Helping People, Help People

The partnership between Birch and The Courtside Group isn't about any single video or post, it's about being trusted with the whole story. Strategy, social, video production and editing all live under one roof, which means the work compounds. A job-site video builds toward a project reveal, that reveal reinforces the mission, and the mission gives every post, from a fire station renovation to a summer intern welcome, a reason to exist beyond “we finished a building.”

As Birch continues to grow across North Texas, The Courtside Group remains the strategic partner behind how that growth gets told, helping Birch ‘help people, help people” into words and video, one project at a time.
